One of the most famous crossover events was in a comic book series by Marvel (1987) called G.I. Joe and the Transformers, where Autobots end up working with G.I. Joe.

Speaking with ComicBook.com, di Bonaventura admitted that there hasn’t been much progress on the crossover yet. At the end of 2023’s Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, there was a hint of the G.I. Joe organization, with Anthony Ramos’ character Noah Diaz getting invited to join the covert special operations unit.

Now, in a new fan-made trailer of Transformers: War of the Beasts, G.I. Joe teams up with the Autobots. The battle for Earth intensifies as the heroic Autobots and Maximals face off against the planet-devouring Unicron.

This sequel to Rise of the Beasts introduces G.I. Joe into the mix, including Duke, Snake Eyes, and Scarlett. They join forces with Optimus Prime and Cheetor to fight classic Decepticon villains and fierce Predacons.

A fan-made trailer is a great example of how cool a G.I. Joe and Transformers mashup could be. Even though there’s no official movie announced, fans are excited about the idea. The trailer mixes both franchises’ styles and stories really well, making it fun to watch.

When to Expect Transformers x G.I. Joe Crossover?

The release date for the Transformers x G.I. Joe crossover could be around 2025 or 2026. Some doubted if the sequel would happen, especially since Rise of the Beasts only made $438 million (via Box Office Mojo) at the worldwide box office.

Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura not only confirmed that the crossover would happen but also provided a potential release window.

When asked about the release date of the next film in the Transformers franchise during an interview with Sci-Fi & Fantasy Gazette, the Madame Web producer said:

“It’s a good question. We were about to start a script when the writers’ strike happened. So, our hope was we were going to have it for 2025, but I think the longer the strike goes on, the more it puts it in 2026.”

To make the Transformers and G.I. Joe movie a hit, Paramount will likely focus on a strong script. This means the movie might be delayed. With the writer’s strike affecting things, expect a release sometime in 2026 rather than 2025.
