Sydney Sweeney has emerged as a familiar face on television thanks to her incredible performance as Cassie Howard in the hit HBO series Euphoria, for which she even got an Emmy nomination. However, it appears her commitment to Spider-Man could spell doom for Euphoria‘s third season. The same can also be said about Zendaya at this point in time.

Sweeney is set to star as Julia Carpenter in the highly-anticipated film Madame Web this year. Sony’s latest Spider-Man film in their ongoing saga has a lot of hype behind it, but equal amounts of dread for good reason as well. Nonetheless, fans are looking forward to what Sydney Sweeney can do.

As noted above, Sydney Sweeney is set to star as Julia Carpenter in Madame Web. As for Zendaya, she will be reprising her role as Mary Jane in the fourth Spider-Man film in the MCU, whenever that gets announced.

While speaking to Variety, HBO and Max content chairman/CEO Casey Bloys was asked about the status of Euphoria season 3. Casey Bloys has not disclosed whether Season 3 will be the show’s last, deferring the decision to creator and executive producer Sam Levinson. Bloys acknowledges the cast’s rise to stardom, especially Zendaya, and the practical considerations of their schedules.

Obviously the cast have all become stars, which you love to see — and Zendaya is obviously a big movie star,” he said. “So, there is a practical reality to that. But it also depends on the stories Sam wants to tell. He’s in the thick of writing Season 3 right now and we’ll leave it up to him and have those conversations about what he wants to do.”

However, the ultimate determination rests on the stories Levinson envisions for the series. As Levinson is actively writing Season 3, discussions about the show’s future will be based on his creative direction and preferences.
