In a surprising change of heart, Dogg now revealed that he respected Trump who is once again running for office.

Donald Trump’s tenure as President of America was marked by a lot of unrest and differences of opinion. During this period, Trump was seen as a divisive personality with his vision for the country not always being endorsed by the American citizens. Rapper Snoop Dogg was one artist who did not shy away from expressing his opinions on Trump’s controversial time as President.

The popular artist used his craft as a tool to troll Trump time and again. One of his music videos titled Lavender, featured the singer taking aim at a clown-like figure dressed as the billionaire. While Trump’s lawyer demanded an apology from Dogg, the former President went one step further to insist that he be arrested.

But the rapper was not one to take threats lying down. Later that year, he released another video that took a brutal dig at Trump’s slogan,’Make America Great Again’. The song titled Make America Crip Again which released on SnoopDoggTV, ripped apart the politician’s views with an opening line that left nothing to the imagination.

Snoop Dogg used the word ‘crip’ to refer to The Crips, an African-American gang which rose to prominence in Los Angeles in the late 60s. Through this, the singer hinted at the importance of racial diversity as being the cornerstone of a democratic society.

Judging by the history between Snoop Dogg and Donald Trump, it is hard to imagine that the rapper would ever jump camp to endorse the former President. But current events indicate that this is exactly the case. Trump who is running for office in the 2024 election, has surprisingly found an ally in none other than his worst critic, Snoop Dog.

The musician who had famously trolled the billionaire-turned-politician through his music videos, now had words of praise him.  In an interview with The Times, Dogg spoke about the former President and said,

“Donald Trump? He ain’t done nothing wrong to me. He has done only great things for me. I have nothing but love and respect for Donald Trump.”

While many fans are wondering if the popular singer has been struck with an acute case of amnesia, Dogg elaborated on the reasons behind his change of heart. According to the Lavender singer, Trump orchestrated the release of Michael Harris, the co-founder of his music label Death Row Records, who was in prison following drug- related offences. This timely help that the politician rendered to Dogg was the defining factor that changed his hostile perception of Trump to a feeling of gratitude.
