John Cena was going to portray the role of Acme Corporation’s Lawyer in the now-canceled film Coyote vs Acme. With Warner Bros. backing the project, this isn’t the first time that a film has been shelved and deleted forever.
Much like Leslie Grace’s Batgirl, this film is also going to be erased and deleted forever and fans are angry. With claims of tax write-off, rejecting offers, and simple tomfoolery, fans took to X and complained about the situation that Warner Bros. keeps on repeating.
John Cena’s Coyote vs. Acme Goes Down The Drain!
Surely people will remember the iconic Looney Tunes cartoon characters that aired in the early and late 1900s. Well, Warner Bros. wanted to recreate that nostalgia, and therefore, Coyote vs. Acme was greenlit and underwent production. Notable people like James Gunn served as the producer of the movie and was also one of the writers of the movie alongside Jeremy Slater and Samy Burch.
The film would have featured the story of Wile E. Coyote suing Acme Corporation (that was responsible for his weapons) after every weapon that Coyote used failed him in his pursuit for Road Runner.
Well, the movie got canceled and the reason was attributed to a simple tax write-off. According to a report by The Wrap, the film was revived again. In more recent news, the film was canceled again and now it is reported to be shelved and deleted forever.
‘COYOTE VS ACME’ is now expected to be shelved and deleted forever.
Warner Bros wanted $75M – $80M for the film and rejected offers from Netflix, Amazon & Paramount, refusing to let them counter-offer.

The film costs $30M to make, they really just want the tax write-off because they negotiating in bad faith for real. Filmmakers deserve better from these execs who waste money & IP like this.

As per the report, Warner Bros. did not accept handsome offers from Netflix, Amazon, and, Paramount. Paramount even agreed to give a theatrical release to the film but the studio rejected the offer. According to what some insiders say about the movie, the John Cena-led movie was quite remarkable and yet, it was canceled.
The John Cena-led Movie Was Quite Remarkable
Paul Scheer was one of the few people who attended the screening of Coyote vs. Acme. In an interview with The Wrap, Scheer talked about how the movie would have brought back the authentic vibe from the characters of Looney Tunes but sadly, it was canceled.
“What was so exciting was that it felt like the film captured the voice of the Looney Tunes that we love in a way none of the other feature versions have ever done,”
Alongside John Cena, the actor was joined by Will Forte, Jeff Bergman, and, several others. The film was estimated to have a budget of $70 million but it seems that due to multiple factors affecting the release, the film was ultimately canceled.
