John Cena’s words of encouragement to an interviewer who announced his impending wrestling debut have gone viral on social media. Notwithstanding his somewhat uneventful career debut, the former is undoubtedly one of the greatest WWE stars of all time.

In an interview with ComicBook, the interviewer, Brandon Davis, mentioned that he was about to start training to become a wrestler. He then asked Cena what advice he would give before his first match, using the knowledge the latter had gained over the course of his career.

Cena advised him to take it easy on the fans and use caution. It was a touching moment when he used the opportunity to offer some sage advice to the interviewer as the latter prepared for his professional wrestling debut:

“Entertain the audience. Don’t work for yourself and work safe. The goal is to be able to do 200 times a year for 20 years. So just be safe and give yourself to the audience and know your audience.”

The last time Cena faced off for the WWE was at the Crown Jewel tournament in Saudi Arabia in November, where he was soundly defeated by Solo Sikoa.
