Dave Bautista was once a professional WWE wrestler but after retirement joined Hollywood to become an actor. Bautista has had his fair share of iconic roles and projects throughout the years and also had a significant role in the 2021 film Dune.
Working alongside iconic director Denis Villeneuve, Bautista revealed that he has a special place for the Dune director in his heart. the retired wrestler revealed that he had never received compliments as an actor but it was Villeneuve who said to Dave Bautista that he was “a very strong actor”.

Ever since stepping foot in Hollywood, Dave Bautista has worked with several iconic directors over the years. From James Gunn to Zack Snyder, the actor has his fair share of notable roles and iconic films to his name.
Joining Denis Villeneuve for the ride, Bautista portrayed the role of Glossu Rabban in the 2021 film Dune. In an interview with ScreenRant, the actor shared that throughout his career, no one has complimented him as a strong actor!
“He’s the only one that’s verbally come out to me and said ‘you’re a very strong actor, follow your instincts,’ and I’ve never had anyone say that to me, and he did. I get that type of encouragement from him.”
What’s harrowing is that Bautista has portrayed the role of Drax in James Gunn’s iconic Guardians of the Galaxy franchise for several years. Even veteran actor Daniel Craig has heard about Dave Bautista’s sweetness while working together in Spectre.
Daniel Craig Broke Dave Bautista’s Nose!
Back in 2016, Daniel Craig was involved in a fight scene with Dave Bautista. During his appearance on The Graham Norton Show, Craig jokingly recalled that he broke Bautista’s nose (accidentally, of course) and ran away thinking Bautista would come after him!
“I broke his nose. I didn’t do it deliberately; clearly, it was a mistake. Like I said, he’s a big guy, professional wrestler, you really wouldn’t mess with him. I threw this punch, I hit him on the nose and heard this crack. And I went, ‘Oh God no’, and ran away. I thought he was going to come after me. And he was so sweet,”
Bautista was last seen reprising his role of Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 and will be seen again as Glossu Rabban when Dune: Part Two releases. Meanwhile, Dune (2021) is available to stream on Max in the U.S.
