Big Bang Theory’s Sheldon Cooper knows how to console an upset soul, the answer is Milk Duds (the reference goes back to offering Milk Duds to Zack in S04 E11 – The Justice League Recombination). The same goes with Josh Brolin, the Dune actor will do the unimaginable for Milk Duds.

Dune 2 popcorn bucket has gone viral ahead of the release of the movie. Certainly, a good thing for the movie but the movie’s star Josh Brolin revealed that he will never put his hand in there. Chatting with ET’s Nischelle Turner, Brolin candidly said, “We just talked about it.  I’m not going to stick my hand in there like I’m good I’ll starve.” Indeed, it was a genius marketing strategy. “I think it’s super inventive but no I’m not going to stick my hand in there,” he added.

“We’re talking it, that’s all that matters… I don’t see why you have to stick your hand in there just because we’re talking about it. I see a bunch of people in the theater with one of those freaking buckets in their hand I’ll be like okay you’re an idiot.”

For context, the Dune Sandworm Popcorn Bucket went viral after SNL performed the Dune Popcorn Bucket song. It was a huge hit and the essence of the song quickly caught the attention of fans. However, Brolin has made it abundantly clear that he will not put his hand in the bucket “unless I’m getting a Milk Duds out of it,” the actor said, otherwise, “forget it.” However, his co-star Dave Bautista has the opposite reaction to it, “I’d do the exact opposite!” Regardless, the SNL campaign worked and the movie has reached millions after the release of the song.

What Other Dune 2 Stars Think Of The Sandworm Popcorn Bucket

The Sandworm Popcorn Bucket song is explicit, there would not possibly be a second opinion about that but certainly, it was funny. Perhaps, it was the primal reason for it to go viral. The stars of the movie are also aware of the bucket. Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Dune 2 stars, Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Austin Butler, and Florence Pugh have reacted to the infamous souvenir.

Amid the conversation of the movie and behind the scenes of the bond among the stars, Kimmel brought the infamous popcorn bucket out and offered the stars to take some popcorn out of it. While Chalamet took some from the souvenir popcorn bucket, Zendaya declined saying, “The jokes write themselves.” Pugh said, “That’s not okay! That’s wrong!”

In another interview with the Associated Press Butler said that he doesn’t own one of these souvenir popcorn buckets. However, the movie’s lead star Chalamet shockingly revealed, “I designed that.” Was it a joke? At this point, it doesn’t matter but if he actually designed that, he deserves the credit. Denis Villeneuve’s Dune 2 will hit the theaters on 15 March 2024.
