The internet has been all praise for the film that serves as the sequel to Into the Spider-Verse. Many are praising the franchise as one of the best Spider-Man properties on screen. But what does MCU’s Spidey think of the film? As per Holland, Into the Spider-Verse is simply the best. But not everyone agrees with that assessment.

Holland further said that he was supposed to attend the premiere of Across the Spider-Verse with producer Amy Pascal, but couldn’t because of his Apple TV+ show. The actor said:

“Amy Pascal is like my mom — I was supposed to go with her as her date (to Across the Spider-Verse premiere) [but] I couldn’t go because I’m here working, but I’m incredibly proud of them [and] I’m excited for the second one [Across the Spider-Verse and] I’m sure it’ll live up to every expectation and I can’t wait to see it.”

However, a lot of Spider-Man fans have raised their eyebrows at Holland’s statement. After all, there are a lot of great Spidey films and fans are demanding that their favorite ones be given the respect they deserve.

As such, the Marvel star arbitrarily crowning Into the Spider-Verse as the best Spider-Man film wasn’t loved by all. Here’s what the fans are saying:

It’s pretty clear that Tom Holland was just giving his opinion about what the best Spider-Man film for him is. In fact, it’s very professional and charitable of him to call another Spidey project the best when his last outing as the character grossed Marvel Studios $1.9 billion at the box office.

Across the Spider-Verse is expected to do great business as well. But can it beat the box office record set by No Way Home?
