With a nearly three-decade-long career behind her, Angelina Jolie has smashed almost all sorts of genres with her magnetic performance. At the young age of 24, she bagged an academy award for her supporting performance in the film Girl, Interrupted starring alongside Winona Ryder. She has wooed her audiences with her confident acting methods and dialogue delivery which led her to become the go-to choice for filmmakers. Be it any genre, she’s done them all.
Although she has taken up some of the most challenging roles in her acting career, her inclination has always been toward action blockbusters. The Eternals star’s high-octane journey started with Lara Croft which was an adaptation of the famous game, but it couldn’t do well.
It was Mr. & Mrs. Smith that she did with her ex-husband Brat Pitt that helped her discover how she should approach action films going forward. She can hold her own during intense stunt sequences. Moreover, her diamond-cut face and strong cheekbones have been working in her favor in bagging roles that need her to appear more commanding in her films, such as Taking Lives, Salt, and Wanted.
Angelina Jolie’s Bold Offer Made Her Co-Star Highly Uncomfortable
We are no strangers to Angelina Jolie’s sensuality while she handles her roles. But, there was this one time while on the set of her psychological thriller Taking Lives, she made her co-star Ethan Hawke rather uncomfortable. They had an intimate scene planned out for the film and Hawke was pretty nervous.
It may be hard for us to believe, but Jolie offered to ‘strip naked’ in front of him so he could calm his nerves. Hawke’s Before Trilogy had full of intimate scenes, but working with Jolie made him realize how intimidating she can be.
Talking with CBS News, he shared –
“And so, we’re sitting there and she said, ‘I have an idea about this scene. What if Ethan stayed in his suit the whole time and I just got completely naked?’”
Jolie Gets High Praise From Hawke For A Steamy Scene
The many reasons according to the Training Day actor that he wants to collaborate more often with her is her out-of-the-box methodical approach to easing up tension in a scene.
According to the 52-year-old actor, he had his most memorable kiss with Angelina Jolie which still makes him weak in the knees. He shared –
“With all due respect, the woman has been in the press a lot lately, but the best on-screen kiss I ever had was Angelina Jolie. She was born to whittle men and to make them weak in the knees.”

It was this film that led Hawke to leave commercial films and start getting into films that required strong acting skills.
Jolie signed on for an action flick – Maude v Maude with WB starring alongside the talented Halle Berry according to a Deadline report back in April. She would also be voicing her animated Kung-Fu Panda character Tigress in the fourth installment set for March 8, 2024.
