The energy that Will Ferrell brings, even into some of his outlandish gigs, is unmatched and is one of the reasons that makes him so entertaining. Known for not backing away to take extreme measures in order to entertain his audience, back in 2013, the actor donned the famous red coat, entering the Staples Center dressed up as a security outfit in a Lakers game.

And it wasn’t long before things turned wacky, as the Barbie Star joined forces with NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal to improvise a hilarious prank, even leaving the late Kobe Bryant amused.

When Will Ferrell Joined Forces With Shaquille O’Neal to Prank Everyone

During his time in Kevin Hart’s Hart to Heart, Will Ferrell recounted the incident, explaining he received the security guard outfit as a gift from Adam McKay and Chris Henchy and absolutely loved it. Eventually, the actor convinced himself to visit the Lakers game wearing the guard outfit, and Kobe Bryant was like, “‘What is he doing?'”, Ferrell recalled. However, things took a more wacky turn after Shaquille O’Neal locked eyes with the Barbie Star, and considering O’Neal was ready to leave the game, the two improvised a hilarious prank. Ferrell shared,

“ And one of his guys is like ‘Shaq thought that was hilarious. Do you, during the next timeout, do you wanna throw him out of the game?’ Holy s**t. ‘Because he’s ready to leave.’ So the next time I stood up, I keep looking over at Shaq. And then finally, I’m like ‘That’s it, let’s go.’  I throw him out of the game. And then, Shaq and I are hugging each other. He’s like ‘That’s so funny that you….anytime, you can throw me out anytime.”

Considering O’Neal has also been in the comedy side of Hollywood for a while, it’s reasonable to see why Ferrell and the NBA legend get along so well and successfully pulled off a hilarious prank.

Shaquille O’Neal Named This Will Ferrell Movie as His Stress Buster

Following the above incident, it’s obvious Shaquille O’Neal is a big fan of Will Ferrell’s work, as the actor is known for putting extreme effort into anything he is involved in. And it seems, one of Ferrell’s best comedies, Step Brothers, is the biggest stress-buster for the Blended actor, thanks to Zoolander Star’s hilarious performance. Shaquille O’Neal expressed,

“Because when I get stressed out, Stepbrothers, that’s the movie I’m watching! ‘Don’t touch my f*cking drum set!’ I go to that part. It makes me laugh. Then I could calm down and be like, ‘Okay, what’s the problem? it’s alright”. And I can figure it out.’

Although Will Ferrell hasn’t witnessed the same highs as the 2000s for a while, he does seem to enjoy everything he is involved in, including his recent part in Barbie, which has now joined the $1B club.
