Harry Potter star Tom Felton was a very popular name during his time in the much-beloved franchise where he played fan-favorite character Draco Malfoy. He made a big impression among fans with his antagonistic portrayal of the character over 8 films but since the end of the film, he has not done anything significant up to that level since the franchise’s end.

The next decade saw him appear in supporting roles in films like Belle, Risen, Megan Leavey, and A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting, but he was not the standout in any of them. Fans are already concerned that his movie career is fading away while Felton on the other hand, is venturing into his musical side of him and recently released an album. But fans are not happy with this and are totally eviscerating his album.

Since the end of the Harry Potter films, Tom Felton has not made a mark to the level of his breakout role Draco Malfoy in any of his film appearances since.  While he has appeared in many supporting roles, it looked like his once-raging popularity is slowly fading. Felton’s fans have been wanting to see him back again as the popular heartthrob with another huge role but it has not happened yet.

In addition to films, another passion of Felton is music and he recently made a big move by releasing a new album titled Orange. Felton has released several EPs before including  ReD, YoOHoO, and Hawaii, and the release of a full-length studio album is a big evolution for Felton as a musical artist. However, fans are not interested in the actor’s passion project and are demanding him to return to films.

On X, via The Daily Mail, fans are ranting about Felton for ignoring his film career in favor of music. One fan wrote how he/she was disappointed that Felton was making music, writing, “Finding out Tom Felton makes music unironically ruined my night.” Another fan wrote how his album’s songs especially Holding On were so bad (even worse than Jojo Siwa’s Karma) writing,

“How’s it possible that there’s a worse song already been released this year that’s worse than Jojo Siwa’s ‘Karma’? What is Tom Felton doing?”

The reactions lean into a more toxic attitude where fans are unnecessarily getting frustrated that Felton is not doing what they want him to do. However, Felton is exploring other avenues as an artist and his music career shows that he is much more than Draco Malfoy or his film career.

Tom Felton Has a Fun Advice for the Cast of the Upcoming Harry Potter Series

More than a decade after the end of the Harry Potter films, Warner Bros is developing a new Harry Potter series with each season covering each Harry Potter book. While the series is in early development and does not have a cast yet, Draco Malfoy actor Tom Felton has an advice for the new cast that will take on the legacy of the franchise.

In an interview with Collider, Felton advised the new cast to take as many pictures as possible so that they would be able to keep back the memories of shooting the series. He and the original cast also took limited pictures (as there were no camera phones at the time) which reminded them how much fun they were having. Felton said

“I would only say take more pictures and try and steal more props. I’m joking about the last one, but take more pictures because when I find one that I haven’t seen for a long time now, it reminds me of how much fun we were having. Bearing in mind, we didn’t have camera phones then or anything like that, so it’s a bit easier now.”

It will be interesting to see who Warner Bros casts to play the new Draco Malfoy. Felton became a household name playing the character and it will be exciting to see whether the new actor lives up to the impact that Felton created. The new Harry Potter series will premiere on Max in 2026.
