The actor stated that he had no knowledge that Kidman was there to watch the show. He was sharing the dressing room with his other castmates, and someone knocked at the door while they were changing. Mescal thought that it was the stage manager so he opened the door while he was in his underwear.

Mescal shared a half-dressed hug with Nicole Kidman, and after she left, they just “turn to each other like, ‘What the hell just happened?'” Nevertheless, the Oscar-winning actress was impressed by the show, as Jimmy Kimmel asked if she talked about the “magic of the film?” and he gave a nod.
