As the film is centered on the themes of fashion, it boasted several stunning designer outfits and expensive props. In fact, Hathaway stole one of the costumes she used on the set. What could it be?

Anne Hathaway Took Home Her Butt Pads From The Devil Wears Prada

In an interview with Access Hollywood with the cast of The Devil Wears Prada, Anne Hathaway revealed the item she took from the set. Out of all the designer clothes and whatnot, she chose to bring home her butt pads. She admitted:

I lost quite a bit of weight for the film, just for the character, but we still had to pad me up for the size six part. So I had a butt pad, and I took it at the end of the film.”

The actress jokingly shared that she hung it up in her office to commemorate her experience in the iconic film. She further explained:

I’ve had it framed with a little plaque underneath it that says ‘Andy’s A**.’ What was I thinking? It hangs in my office.”

While Hathaway obviously owned her character, getting the role was not easy at all. In fact, the studio wanted Rachel McAdams for the part. The Les Misérables actress’ persistence, however, made it all possible. Fox 2000 President Elizabeth Gabler told Entertainment Weekly:

I remember her sitting on my sofa in my office and explaining why she wanted to do this, why she had to play this role, and giving script notes about the third act. Annie never gave up. She never stopped campaigning, calling, she came into [Fox executive] Carla Hacken’s office and wrote in her zen garden, ‘Hire me.’

McAdams was notably uninterested in the project, so there was no doubt that the role was definitely made for Hathaway.

Will Anne Hathaway Return For A Sequel?

Because of the massive success of the movie, there have been a lot of talks about a sequel. Anne Hathaway has expressed her desire for a follow-up story and has actually begged the studio to make one. She told MTV News:

I remember calling them after the fervor had died out in America, and Meryl Streep and I were on a press tour in Europe. I was having such a fun time talking about it all that I called up the executives at Fox who had championed it, and I said, ‘Can we just come up with a story please?’ And they said, ‘We’re working on it.’

While the lead star hopes for another shot at playing Andy Sachs, she believes it would be difficult to recreate the same vibe with the original film as it was from another era. Hathaway shared via The View:

I just think that movie was in a different era. Now everything’s gone so digital, and that movie is centered around the concept of producing a physical thing, and it’s just, it’s just very different.”

Still, the movie and the characters remain very dear to Hathaway through the years, and just thinking about transporting back to that era makes it even more enticing to revisit.
