As shared, despite having her family’s support, the 25-year-old star still often found herself in a circle of insecurity after being judged by the people around her.

“In high school, whenever I’d go home [between filming], I would feel so insecure and judged. People would be like, ‘So have you done anything? When are you gonna get a real job?’ Or ‘When are you just gonna come home and get married and have a real life?’”

Yet, The White Lotus star was reluctant to give up on everything she ever dreamt of. Instead, she worked harder than ever to prove everyone wrong.

“And I knew that if I ever gave up on my dream, I wouldn’t be able to live with myself. I wasn’t going to allow myself to quit and allow people to tell me that I’m not good enough or I wasn’t going to make it. I was just going to keep working as hard as I possibly could to achieve my dreams.”

And so she did, as she defied everyone’s expectations of her with her jaw-dropping performances in the two biggest superhit shows of all timewhich even gifted her with two Emmy nods!

After working in the industry for nearly a decade-and-a-half, Sydney Sweeney finally managed to bag important roles in two of the hottest blockbuster TV shows of all time. She plays Cassie Howard in Euphoria, a self-destructive high school teenager, and Olivia Mossbacher in The White Lotus, a college sophomore who is also the center of a teenage Twitter troll.

Performing remarkably in both of the ongoing television series, Sweeney now has her name on everyone’s lips as she gets two Emmy nominations for the same. Sharing how she felt after finding out about the nominations, she said,

“I wasn’t expecting it. I was in a fitting for Madame Web, and when I came out of it, my phone was blowing up. After, I posted the video of my mom and me crying on the phone. It’s been more than 10 years of work and a lot of sacrifices and people telling me no. The nominations were really meaningful because I hope that my parents are proud because they gave up a lot of their lives and themselves to be able to help me pursue my dreams. It also means a lot that I’m playing characters that resonate with viewers and characters that challenge me as an artist. It’s an amazing moment. To attend as a double nominee my first time was such an honor. It’s one birthday I’ll never forget.”

Regardless, judging from her terrific on-screen portrayals, the only way for Sydney Sweeney now is up and above with several more Emmy nominations and winnings on the way!
