Filmmakers and video games are the real deal today. Who would’ve thought a decade ago that a whole TV series could be inspired from video games? The trend began after Netflix’s Castlevania hit the numbers in 2017. This marked the beginning of a trend that might go on for an indefinite time in the future since the popularity of video games is significantly on the rise. Eventually, an adaption of the game League of Legends was made into an animated series, Arcane.

One of the greatest Netflix hits of 2023 was The Last of Us, also adapted from Naughty Dog’s game of the same name. Starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, the show earned a billion-dollar success. Therefore, cementing the faith in video games, another show is set to roll in next year. Much like The Last of Us, this show will also be set in a post-apocalyptic, but retrofuturistic, and atompunk aesthetic.

Fallout, a TV adaptation of the game is building up excitement for fans as its release date draws closer. The game follows a rather satirical plotline based in a nuclear wasteland, and the show shall sport the same. With the rising buzz, more details flow in revealing when and where fans may watch it.

The story will be based in Los Angeles in a retrofuturistic theme where people are still obsessed with the 1940s. The situational crisis follows 219 years after a nuclear war took place in 2077. The show will revolve around three plotlines simultaneously, all pointing towards a similar goal. That is, to find an artifact that holds the power to overturn the power dynamics of their world. As of now, director Jonathan Nolan is done with the first three episodes, per Variety

One out of the three storylines will shed light on Lucy’s journey into the real world, unprotected from the confinement of subterranean vaults where she has spent her life. It housed many survivors from the nuclear apocalypse. After Lucy is forced to step out of her home, she faces the deadly challenges of the harsh world she lives in.

Maximus’s story spins around his association with the military-like group, The Brotherhood of Steel. The group intends to restore law and order in their world, and Maximus is kept in charge of a Power Armor suit.
