We have seen time and time again just how exceptional a filmmaker Christopher Nolan is when any project that he’s associated with goes on to receive some of the most pristine critical reception seen in years. But other than several behind-the-scenes footage and interviews, we have never seen him making the most of his time in front of the camera.
But it seems like lately, the prolific director has started to open up a bit when he is being shot through the lens of a device, which recently saw him trying his hands at some comical quips with fellow filmmaker Denis Villeneuve. In a recent video, we could see Nolan try to crack a simple joke while announcing the re-release of his film Tenet, which despite being very simple, has managed to crack up the fans.
Christopher Nolan Tries To Crack A Rare Joke On Camera With Denis Villeneuve
There’s no denying that when it comes to pure talent and a knack for creating masterpieces in cinema, almost no one can rival Christopher Nolan. But outside that, the filmmaker is seen with his stern and serious expression and demeanor for the most part. That is except for one video where he’s seen making a joke with filmmaker Denis Villeneuve, while on camera.
In a recent post (via @guywithamoviecamera), fans saw both Villeneuve as well as the Oppenheimer director, who announced the re-release of his 2020 sci-fi masterpiece Tenet in the IMAX format on 23rd March, which will also have an exclusive preview of his fellow filmmaker’s upcoming Dune: Part Two during the screening. And during this announcement video, Nolan tried his hands in comedy.

As you can see, it was a successful attempt, but not in a traditional way of jokes. Instead, the punchline was so simple yet out of character for the filmmaker in front of the camera that people could not help but laugh at his innocent dabble with humor alongside another prolific filmmaker.
What Do The Fans Have To Say About This?
As one can expect, a mastermind with cinematic masterpieces, many times beyond a normal human’s comprehension, making a silly little joke went a long way, and people in the comment section were embracing and laughing at it.

Tenet will be re-releasing on IMAX on 23rd February 2024.
