Helldivers 2 is a dynamic game that is constantly evolving. Currently, it is one of the most played live service games on the market. Whenever a large player base and a constantly changing game meet, people must get ready for chaos. This chaos started when players lost their fights with the hostile Automaton faction for a location known as Malevelon Creek.

This not only made people angry, but it also made them engage with this game to a greater extent. Everyone wanted this location back, and they came with full force, but the Automatons are worse than ever. Players are finding it hard to keep up and want others to be more tactical with their decisions.

Players are taking Galactic War of the Helldivers 2 quite seriously

It’s not uncommon for fans to get entrapped in the lore of their favorite video game. This has happened before, and there is no doubt it will happen in a number of games in the near future. From games with thousands of years of history like Elder Scrolls to games like Doom, every game has fans digging into its story for some more detail.

A similar thing happened to Halo, and to this day, fans have been taking everything that happens in its story to heart. This is pretty evident from the fact that the first thing that came to their minds was the loss of Reach in Halo when players lost control of Malevelon Creek.

They talked about it as literally one of the biggest shocks ever in gaming, but unlike Reach, Malevelon Creek is not lost forever. The dynamic nature of Helldivers 2’s war means players can push back once again and win this place, but to do so, they would have to come together. And they did; around 350,000 have now come together to shift the tide of this war in Super Earth’s favor.

But during this struggle, they had to face yet another defeat. Recently, Super Earth lost yet another location called Mantes to the Automaton forces. This came as a huge blow to all the fans, who were all enthusiastic previously.

After that, players were tasked with taking back another hold named Veld. But this too is not going as planned; they are quickly losing control of this location, and they are all blaming this on Arrowhead Game Studios’ Game Master Joel.

The liberation meter of the planet has quickly dropped from 70% to 57%, and no doubt players are thinking that all their attempts have been for naught. This is going to be big, as players might end up thinking that the developers are not rewarding them for their efforts. This would be incredibly damaging to the longevity of Helldivers 2.

The only hope for all these fans is that Joel will now start thinking in favor of the Helldivers of Super Earth and stop pushing this destruction. Some are hopeful that Joel will listen and things will change for the better; let’s see when that time comes.

Is the decreasing player count the main culprit?

Fans cannot help but imagine if a larger player count would have made things any better. As the CEO of Arrowhead Game Studios once mentioned, to change the tide of war in Helldivers 2, more players would have to come together, as fewer CCUs or concurrent users would mean greater losses.

Maybe now is the time when Sony decided to bring this game to Xbox consoles. Doing this would definitely bring the player count up, and maybe then players would see some victories.
