Here’s how MAPPA describes this part:

MAPPA provided a teaser for the upcoming episode, suggesting that Itadori encounters many lost civilians in the midst of numerous cursed spirits and proceeds to Gojo’s location. While there, Itadori encounters an individual who claims to be Choso.

Choso initially fought against Gojo during the Shibuya Incident. He worked with the villains Jogo and Hinami in an attempt to defeat the powerful Jujutsu Tech teacher.

Despite his ability to control blood and his disregard for innocent civilians in the Shibuya subway, Choso couldn’t defeat Gojo and escaped with his life.

However, Choso did manage to distract Gojo, allowing Geto to trap him in the Prison Realm. Now that Gojo is gone, Choso seeks revenge and blames Yuji Itadori for his brothers’ deaths in the events of Jujutsu Kaisen’s first season.

The Shibuya Incident Arc is becoming one of the most significant story arcs in Jujutsu Kaisen. It’s already bringing unexpected changes to the supernatural shonen world.

Now that Gojo is no longer involved in the battle against Geto and the villains, Yuji Itadori and the Jujutsu Tech students have a lot of important tasks ahead of them.
