Despite having a difficult life, Naruto overcomes all of the challenges he faces and, in the end, prevents the end of the world during the Fourth Great Ninja War. Following that, he eventually accomplishes his ultimate goal of becoming a Hokage, which makes his tale quite morally balanced.

Later, viewers saw him continue to play the role of Hokage in the follow-up series Boruto for a considerable amount of time. Sadly, though, things took a terrible turn when the Boruto series hinted at the protagonist’s impending death, upsetting and disrupting fans. His death has ultimately wasted decades worth of character development of one of the biggest anime characters in an instant.

Who Killed Naruto in Boruto?

Naruto was in a way killed by Kawaki, the adopted son of Naruto, however, the blame for this went on Boruto, his actual son. Kawaki wants to create a haven for Naruto, the person he loves and cherishes, where he can live without worrying about his safety. He therefore plans to kill every member of the Otsutsuki.

But to accomplish that, he must also murder Boruto, who is currently acting as Momoshiki’s vessel. Knowing that Naruto wouldn’t just watch him try to kill Boruto, Kawaki sent him and Hinata to a different realm and sealed them there to prevent him from interfering.

Later on, Kawaki received assistance from Eida, who used her Shinjutsu abilities to rewrite history and completely alter the course of both Kawaki’s and Boruto’s lives. Presently, Boruto is regarded as the 7th Hokage’s killer, and Kawaki is considered the 7th Hokage’s son. So Naruto Uzumaki is officially deemed dead by the shinobi community as a whole.

Naruto’s Death Wasted Decades Worth of Character Development

Naruto was meant to be the main focus of Masashi Kishimoto’s manga, but in the end, he was entirely ignored. His transformation into the Hokage, in the eyes of many fans, was a waste of the opportunity he had as one of the greatest ninjas.

He has overcome numerous challenges, molding himself into a person who is resilient on the inside as well as the outside. Since their early years, fans have been following the story of Naruto. The scheme to help Boruto’s character development by having Naruto killed off failed miserably because Naruto was more than just a supporting character in Boruto.

Even though Naruto’s story may have come to an end, he still had a lot of character development left in him. In a way, killing him is the lazy choice and reflects poorly on Boruto as the centerpiece of all this was Naruto and he could have done a lot more as a living character. Fans hope that Kishimoto in some way brings back their favorite character and gives him the role he deserves.
