Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, fans stressed Spider-Man as one of the possible characters to lead in the next Avengers outing. Considering Peter Parker has matured a lot since his debut in Civil War and has already dealt with multiverse shenanigans in No Way Home, the suggestion makes complete sense.

Another superhero, who bears a lot of experience in the multiverse side of things, was also one of the top picks for the lead position. Although Doctor Strange has been notably watered-down in his last few MCU outings, he can also end up being a worthy mentor to lead the Earth’s Mightiest heroes.

With Sam Wilson being the new wielder of both the Captain America shield and the title, fans reasonably picked him as one of the frontrunners to lead the team of heroes in the fifth film. While actor Anthony Mackie previously expressed doubt about Sam being the one to lead the next generation of superheroes, Roger’s Protégé being the next leader makes complete sense.
Sam Wilson and/or Doctor Strange are the obvious choices. If it’s mostly newer heroes, I could also see Spidey leading, depending on what happens in Spider-Man 4.

One fan stressed Wolverine as the next leader of Avengers, which despite being a bit unlikely, is still an interesting pick nonetheless. Considering the MCU has been notably struggling to get things back on track, Deadpool 3 could be their saving grace, which could also end up setting Wolverine up for a much bigger role, especially in Secret Wars.

One of the OGs, Thor was unsurprisingly one of the picks to lead the next set of Earth’s Mightiest heroes in the foreseeable. Even though things have been rough for the God of Thunder, with his last outing becoming a disappointment, being one of the top three of the original line-up, there’s no doubt he can definitely be a competent leader.

Keeping in mind the OG line-up had multiple leaders, with each one filling their respective part on the team, especially Iron Man and Captain America, this could also end up being the case for Avengers 5.
Avengers 5 Might Witness an All-New Foe for Our Heroes to Go Up Against
Although Kang was originally supposed to be the main big bad in the fifth movie, following Jonathan Majors‘ conviction, the MCU could very possibly end up scrapping the entire Kang storyline.
