We have reason to believe that the GTA 6 release date could be announced this year and it looks like it’ll be released in 2025. There has been no official confirmation from Rockstar Games as yet but parent company, Take-Two have indicated that they expect the title to release in the next two years.
Some fans have speculated that Rockstar games like to market new titles in the month of October, which happened previously with GTA 5 in October 2011 and Red Dead Redemption 2 in October 2016. So it seems completely plausible that there may be an announcement in October 2023, right?
Given that later this year is the ten year anniversary of GTA 5, it would make sense that an announcement on the latest title would take place. But with that being said, there are other rumours which state that the announcement of a Red Dead Redemption remaster may be what Rockstar are preparing. And this would certainly push back the GTA 6 release date.

GTA 6 Release Date – What’s Been Said so Far
As stated earlier, Take-Two Interactive are the parent company of Rockstar games and in a recent earnings call, they were quoted with the following;
“Fiscal 2025 is a highly anticipated year for our Company. For the last several years, we have been preparing our business to release an incredibly robust pipeline of projects that we believe will take our company to even greater levels of success.”
They went on to say;
“In Fiscal 2025, we expect to enter this new era by launching several groundbreaking titles that we believe will set new standards in our industry and enable us to achieve over $8 billion in Net Bookings and over $1 billion in Adjusted Unrestricted Operating Cash Flow.”
Given that they refer to ‘groundbreaking titles’, we would assume that they are referring to GTA 6, amongst others. It’s quite easily one of the most eagerly awaited games for fans of this franchise and we’re sure that Rockstar are aware how much fans are crying out for it.
GTA 6 Release Date – Previous Leaks and Rumours
Previous leaks for GTA 6 have rumoured that the setting will be Vice City and that there will be both male and female playable characters. This would be in keeping with the Bonnie & Clyde style dynamic which was leaked in recent scenes. There has also been rumours of multiple drag-racing strips across the GTA 6 map.
However, as noted previously, there has been suggestion that a planned Red Dead Redemption remaster could delay the release of GTA 6, which will no doubt anger fans of the franchise who have waited this long for the next instalment.
