Will Ferrell gave an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live, where he went on to promote another Christmas film he was a part of, Spirited, a musical, where he started alongside Ryan Reynolds. While talking about it, the topic of his classic Christmas film, Elf, came up. the actor was asked how he feels about being basically unstoppable during Christmas. What Kimmel meant by this was the fact that he can pretty much do anything at this time of year, by solely using the hype surrounding him.

“I can de anything I want from Thanksgiving, through January 13th. People just let me into their houses, I can borry their speedboat if I want to. I can shoplift. I can ust do whatever, because of Elf.” 

The actor confessed that this is the truth, adding that as soon as December starts, up until the middle of January, people let him do whatever he wants, and he can get away with everything, by simply talking about his 2003 film.

Will Ferrell then stated that it would be extremely fun for him to test this theory out, and see what all he could get away with simply because it was Christmas time. He used some examples, like stealing from stores by shoplifting. when he said this, Jimmy Kimmel added that this is something that he should definitely do, wear a camera, walk into a store, announce that he is Will Ferrell from Elf, and test the limits of the power.

“Yeah, let’s do it. Let’s do it right now.”

Using an example, the talk show host told the actor that he should steal just a huge amount of steaks, walk out of the store, and see if the police are called on him. Ferrell mentioned that they should do this right now, joking that this would be a lot of fun.
