Since Starfield‘s announcement, games have been flying out of every gaming publisher like it is nothing. In 2023, this is happening a lot more. This is the reason why gamers are in a heavenly space. With games like Baldur’s Gate 3 and Starfield in the line, it is like a festival for them. But these games often create rivalries. The best comes from two of the console companies – Microsoft’s Xbox and Sony’s PlayStation.

Their rivalry is so intense that their consoles are released at the same time. When one performs better than the other, the former does something better the next time. Keeping that pattern in mind, Xbox is set to make one of its exclusive games, open-world. This is their next strategy after Halo Infinite failed to live up to its hype due to PlayStation’s God of War and Ghost of Tsushima.

They can continue their campaign, play side missions, or just explore the world.

With the thought of Gears 6 in mind, it could be made by Unreal Engine 5. Microsoft is slowly shifting its focus to an open world. Halo Infinite, released in 2021, showcased a semi-open world. Instead of a drastic transition, they are trying to introduce open-world gaming slowly. It will be a sight to behold if Gears becomes an open-world game, since it is filed with intense action sequences.

So, the possibility of Gears 6 being an open-world game is not far-fetched. But for the moment, there is no confirmed news. It is still only a speculation. Only official pages can confirm the thoughts. For the moment, is it better to wait and see how Microsoft deals with the open-world games, like Starfield.
