OpenAI recently revealed its newest update (ChatGPT 4.0) featuring a fresh voice mode named Sky. The actress also called out OpenAI for using her voice’s likeness, after declining their offer previously.

While the actress has expressed how “shocked, angered and in disbelief” she is after hearing about the alleged usage, she put out a statement stating her intentions to resolve the matter. She and her legal team sent letters notice to Sam Altman, which led to the company taking down the voice (via TV Line). However, the actress’s husband couldn’t help but make a rather crude joke out of the matter.

In the Weekend Update section of the recent episode of SNL where he and co-host Michael Che switch it up by writing each other’s jokes, Colin Jost brought up the controversy. He joked that he has not bothered to even hear the voice of Sky, and claimed that there is no point in listening to an AI that has no body. Jost said (via YouTube),

ChatGPT has released a new voice assistant feature inspired by Scarlett Johansson’s AI character in ‘Her,’ which I’ve never bothered to watch because without that body, what’s the point of listening?

Jost is seen covering his face in embarrassment as the audiences laugh hard at the unexpected joke. OpenAI has since come out and claimed that they did not use Johansson’s voice and they hired another professional actress for the voice of Sky (via The Washington Post). It remains to be seen whether the situation clams down with these new claims from the company.
