On October 20, 2023, John Cena called out anyone to face him in a singles match on SmackDown. A brawl ensued when Solo Sikoa came out to take Cena down. A match was later fixed between the two at the 2023 Crown Jewel. On November 4, 2023, the Crown Jewel match between Cena and Sikoa saw The Bloodline wrestler having the upper hand over the Peacemaker actor. Following his several Samoan Spikes, Sikoa pinned down Cena to win the match.
However, the wrestler belonging to the Anoa’i family has since not won a single game in the WWE. Sikoa is on a losing streak of 0-6 on SmackDown TV and a whopping 0-23 overall, since beating John Cena.
Fans Call Out Triple H Over Solo Sikoa’s 23 Losses Since Beating John Cena
Solo Sikoa lost to Cody Rhodes in a dark match on February 9th marking his 6th consecutive loss in SmackDown TV and his 23rd overall, since his big win at Crown Jewel against John Cena (via CageMatch.net). Sikoa was promoted from NXT to WWE in September 2022, and he joined his twin brothers in his cousin Roman Reigns‘ stable, The Bloodline. Sikoa is the son of WWE Hall of Famer, Rikishi, and currently continues The Bloodline storyline by forming a tag team with his brother Jimmy Uso.
Sikoa’s embarrassing 23-match losing streak has fans blaming Triple H for his booking decision. Fans called out the Chief Content Officer of WWE for not capitalizing on Sikoa’s win over Cena. Several fans mentioned that Triple H had put wrestler Austin Theory in a similar position too. One fan suggested that the former WWE wrestler wanted Cena to win the Crown Jewel match and that he was intentionally punishing Sikoa for the victory.
However, some felt that Cena should have chosen another match with a legend instead of one with a relative newbie like Sikoa. Some also suggested that the current Sikoa storyline might be heading in a direction similar to another storyline with Chris Jericho. Jericho was on a losing streak before he beat The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin to become the undisputed WWE champion. Several fan reactions read:
Losing streak should continue
He deserves
Because he defeated John Cena

Triple H booking for you. Theory is in the same position as well.

Triple H is bad at booking and capitalizing on things like that Cena won, he did the same to Theory.

I’m beginning to feel like WWE specifically HHH wanted Cena to win but he wouldn’t so I feel like this is WWE punishing Solo
He hasn’t really paid his dues yet and he squashed a HOF pretty much

Theory has a similar track record. That’s why Cena should have just been given the legends treatment and just fought other legends in dream matches or settle old rivalries. He’s just not putting new talent in those promising positions

This has that Jericho storyline smell, when he was on a losing streak only to defeat The Rock and Stone cold to become the undisputed WWE champion.

At the 2023 Crown Jewel, John Cena could barely escape from the several Samoan Spikes that Sikoa delivered to the Bumblebee actor. After Sikoa pinned him down to win the match, Cena got a standing ovation from the crowd as he emotionally walked out of the ring. Many believed that Cena was hinting at his retirement during these moments.
Solo Sikoa’s Losses Following The Crown Jewel Win
According to CageMatch, Solo Sikoa had lost 6 SmackDown matches and 17 house show matches at WWE Live events. After his win over John Cena, the Samoan wrestler faced his first SmackDown tag team defeat as he and Jimmy Uso lost a match against LA Knight and Randy Orton. After this defeat on December 8, he lost a singles match to AJ Styles by disqualification on December 15, 2023.
In a three-on-two handicap match on January 12, Sikoa and Jimmy Uso were defeated by the trio of AJ Styles, LA Knight, and Randy Orton. On January 19, Randy Orton defeated Sikoa in another SmackDown match, while Sikoa was once again disqualified and defeated by LA Knight on the 26th. In his most recent SmackDown dark match, Sikoa was defeated by the Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes.
Fans hope that The Bloodline member gets to end his losing streak in style just like Chris Jericho or Stone Cold Steve Austin who went on to win Championships after their losses.
