As many would assume that DeMayo’s termination from the project would spell failure and doom, it’s definitely the least of his worries as he’s got a stellar roster of critically acclaimed shows.

Beau DeMayo And Marvel Studios Shockingly Severed Ties Before X-Men ’97 Premiere

What happened between Marvel Studios and Beau DeMayo was still a mystery to everyone but rumors started circulating the moment the news was out in the world.

Famous scooper Jeff Sneider claimed on his platform that the reason the showrunner was let go was because he was “an absolute nightmare to deal with on a daily basis” and he was “difficult to work with and gettin’ on everyone’s last nerve.”

Marvel Studios’ streaming, television, and animation head Brad Winderbaum initially addressed the controversy via Entertainment Weekly though he did not give a telling reason as to why they parted ways with DeMayo.

I can’t talk about the details, but I can say that Beau had real respect and passion for these characters and wrote what I think are excellent scripts that really the rest of the team were able to draw inspiration from [to] build this amazing show that’s on screen. I don’t [categorize DeMayo’s exit as a firing]. ‘We parted ways’ is the best way I could say.”

Of course, the more the reason is hidden from the public, the more people will speculate. DeMayo actively promoted X-Men ’97 on his social media platforms, but he was also criticized for regularly posting topless gym selfies and owning an OnlyFans account.

There has not been any confirmation if these matters affected his gig with Marvel Studios or if Sneider’s scoop was actually right. Regardless, DeMayo remained passionate about the show, and he gave his full heart and soul in creating it. In fact, many fans demand that he return for the X-Men live-action reboot.

On Beau DeMayo’s Stellar Television Works

Beau DeMayo getting fired by Marvel Studios does not exactly mean his career is over. If one would look at his impressive work list on IMDb, he’s written many more critically acclaimed projects such as Moon Knight, The Witcher, and The Originals, to name a few.

His works received impressive scores from critics, with 9.0 being the highest (X-Men ’97) and 7.1 being the lowest (After the Storm). Marvel Studios’ Moon Knight was a recipient of an Emmy Award, while The Witcher won two British Academy Television Craft Awards.
