X-Men vs The Avengers: Not Jean Grey But Another X-Men Character Single Handedly Beat The Earth's Mightiest Heroes

SUMMARY

  • The X-Men have proven to be the biggest allies as well as the biggest threats to The Avengers in the pages of Marvel Comics in the past.
  • In Uncanny X-Men #3, the Earth's Mightiest Heroes were all set to face the mutants in an all-out war, which was thankfully averted by the mutant Tempus.

The Marvel Comics fandom often questions it as to who is the more powerful superhero team in the Marvel Universe, The Avengers, or The X-Men. While their popularity and influence in the world of comic books might be neck-to-neck, fans argue that the powers they collectively possess are anything but equal.

Feuling this flame, there have been many occasions in the comic books where both these teams have butted heads with each other seeing the volatile nature of their existence.

In Uncanny X-Men #3, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes were all set to face the mutants in an all-out war, which was miraculously stopped by Tempus, an X-Men who stopped every single Avenger single-handedly with her Temporal Manipulation powers.

It’s hard to imagine The Avengers going toe to toe with an adversary and not finding out a way to take victory from the jaws of defeat. But when it comes to other superhero teams, the X-Men have proven to be their biggest allies as well as their biggest opponents in the past.

In fact, the only reason why they were able to stop an all-out war with the mutants was because of Tempus, who held the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes off on her own and no one else.

One of the former students of the Jean Grey School, Tempus, whose real name is Eva Bell, is one of the mutants who the Avengers face in Uncanny X-Men #3 (via ScreenRant) when they are on the hunt for Cyclops, who killed Professor Charles Xavier while being possessed by The Phoenix.

Thus, Captain America, along with his team and even Captain Marvel by his side, decided to take the rogue X-Men and his team down.

Thus, when both groups came face to face, Steve Rogers had a strong belief that they were going to emerge victorious. But little did they know that Tempus was with them, which changed the entire presumed outcome of their confrontation.

Since she possessed the powers to control time via her Time Bubbles that she could project on individuals, she captured every Avenger, including Captain Marvel, within it and stopped the flow of time, which froze them in place.

As it stands, since no one can ascertain the flow of time in her bubbles, The Avengers never knew that they were frozen in place at all, which rendered them completely outpowered. Thus, this young X-Men member could stop blood from being shed on both sides.

While there may have been no significant strides in terms of introducing the Mutants in the MCU for the time being, it can all change with the appearance of Deadpool in the franchise with the upcoming Deadpool and Wolverine.

As is evident from the trailer, Wade Wilson is on a mission to restore the MCU to its former glory, which has been trusted on him by the TVA as they provide him with dimension-hopping powers. As we all know, the motormouth mercenary tends to make things worse, which can be the optimal way to introduce the X-Men into the franchise to create more chaos in the MCU and secure it’s future through them.
