Helldivers 2 has been one of the most successful titles to have come out this year, with the game regularly featuring among the top five most-played games every day. Helldivers 2 is a PlayStation exclusive and for that reason, Xbox gamers are already feeling left out of the fun.
Over on Reddit, a post has sparked a discussion about the surging interest shown by Xbox gamers over Helldivers 2. Most of those who commented were sure the title would never make it to an Xbox console even though several rumors recently stated the possibility of that happening as early as later this year.
Xbox Gamers Want Helldivers 2 So Bad, They are Signing Petitions
2024 has been rather strange in terms of console wars as four Xbox exclusives were lined up to be released on PlayStation 5 in a surprising move that triggered much debate around the console wars finally ending. Now, with the PlayStation-exclusive Helldivers 2 grabbing all the headlines, Xbox gamers hope the favor could be returned by bringing the blockbuster title to Xbox consoles.
Xbox gamers have even gone so far as to get fellow gamers to sign a petition to show their support for Helldivers 2 and ask the developers at Arrowhead Game Studios to bring the game over to Xbox. At the time of writing, the petition had received over 88,000 signatures, with one comment stating “Xbox needs Helldivers 2 to lead the charge for democracy.”
Several others who signed the petition left a comment below stating console wars are a thing of the past. Over on Reddit, PlayStation gamers have been both surprised about the level of interest shown in the title by Xbox gamers but at the same time being rather assured that no matter what, the title will remain exclusive.
There was even a debate about how Xbox gamers enjoyed Palworld‘s success compared to the reaction shown toward the PlayStation-exclusive, Helldivers 2 which is also going rather strong.

A lot of the comments on one of the Reddit posts on the Helldivers 2 forum are filled with PlayStation gamers leaving sarcastic comments and comments asking Xbox gamers to either get a PC or a PlayStation 5.
This user had an interesting point to make comparing Palworld to Helldivers 2 and the difference in approach to the two titles and their shot to fame.

Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision-Blizzard and Bethesda was also mentioned by some of those who stated the acquisition wouldn’t do much favor to Xbox gamers as a lot of the titles will still come to PlayStation consoles, ending up not affecting Sony or PlayStation at all.

On the sidelines, PC gamers will be a lot happier enjoying the best of both worlds with exclusives from both sides either releasing on PC together or getting ported to PC sometime later. Console wars may still wage on or get annulled by the slow fade-away by Xbox consoles and the eventual rise of PlayStation, either way, PC gamers stay unaffected and seem the best option for gamers to stick to at the moment.
