Xbox Game Pass Core Lineup Revealed With 36 Brilliant Games

Xbox Game Pass Core goes Live starting today, and while the subscription plan will be available globally, the games in the library might be different depending on the region. The Games with Gold plan ended at the beginning of this month, and players who had active membership with the plan were switched to Game Pass Core membership with access to all of the additional games in the new library.

Xbox Game Pass was introduced back in 2017 and has since become one of the best subscription services for gamers to play new and old games. The official lineup for Game Pass Core is now fully revealed.

Xbox Game Pass Core Goes Live Today, Starting With 36 Games in Library

Xbox Game Pass Core goes live globally with 36 games in the library. The new subscription plan replaces the old Xbox Live Gold and Games with Gold plans. Gamers with active Xbox Live Gold plans will be moved to Xbox Game Pass Core membership for no extra cost and will immediately get access to all 36 games in the library. Subscription for Game Pass Core starts at $9.99 per month and will offer online console multiplayer access.

Gamers with the subscription will also get member deals and discounts on select games. Xbox 360 titles that were redeemed through Games with Gold in the past by gamers will be kept in their respective libraries.

Some games may not be available in the catalog, depending on the region. Microsoft also intends to keep the library fresh by updating titles 2-3 times a year. While recent games may not be present right away, there are some good titles already with Payday 2, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, Fallout 4, Fallout 76, and Gears 5 being some solid additions.

Regular Game Pass Subscription Plans Remain Intact, No Changes In Pricing

With the new Core subscription plan activated, there are no changes to the regular subscriptions. The monthly subscription tiers which include the $10.99 Console tier, the $9.99 PC tier, and the $16.99 Ultimate tier have not seen any changes to the rates. With the Ultimate tier, gamers will also get access to the Xbox Cloud Gaming catalog, using which games in the library can played on a host of eligible devices.

The three regular Game Pass subscription plans remain the best way to play major titles as all three plans will receive Day One access to most major game releases. Post Starfield‘s global launch, Microsoft revealed a spike in sales of Xbox Series consoles and Game Pass memberships as gamers flocked to try out Bethesda’s masterpiece on Xbox consoles and PCs.

Microsoft is aiming to persuade more gamers to join Game Pass subscriptions with the new, low-cost entry-level tier. Gamers switching to Xbox for the first time can try Game Pass Core for size, by checking out some of the exclusive games and other best-selling titles in the library.
