Recently, the popularity of Soulslike titles has shot up due to the success and popularity of Elden Ring. While no one does it quite like FromSoftware, the next title, which is rumored to be coming to Game Pass, will keep gamers occupied till Shadow of the Erdtree‘s release.

Lords of the Fallen is a title that received generally favorable reviews from critics and mixed reviews from users, as per Metacritic. The game also received a massive update recently which added a new Roguelite mode to it, increasing replayability and adding new ways to play.

The update was also followed by the game being on a 50% discount. Now, as per a rumor that was sparked by a post on X, made by a user going by Alan Feely, the Soulslike title is also on its way to the gaming subscription service.

This was the post that sparked the rumor on the social media platform:

It is worth noting that Hellblade 2, from Ninja Theory, a first-party Xbox Games Studio, is also coming as a day-one release on Xbox Game Pass. So, if rumors of the Soulslike joining the service’s library are legitimate, it can be argued that the timing of its release could have been significantly better.

Xbox Game Pass Should Have Added Lords of the Fallen in June or Later

Hellblade 2's release might overshadow the Soulslike's addition to the subscription service.
Hellblade 2‘s release might overshadow Soulslike’s addition to the subscription service.

So far, nothing major has been confirmed or announced officially for the month of June on Game Pass. While May does have quite a lot of high-profile releases, like Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons and Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, apart from Hellblade 2.

Gaming subscription services like the Game Pass offer tremendous value in one month and virtually nothing significant in the other. This makes sense because it wouldn’t be feasible to get new high-profile and popular titles to the services one after the other, but having it spaced out would have been a strategically superior way to execute plans.

Social media has seen widespread outrage from PS Plus Subscribers when they don’t get something significant in a month, and Xbox needs to play its cards right to ensure that it retains its subscribers on its subscription service.
