Helldivers 2 is a massive success for PS and Arrowhead, and a wise business decision for Sony by allowing it to ship to PC on day one along with the PS5 version. It was a PS Studios title but managed to be ported on a different platform, which means the reign of exclusives is over, and Xbox showed its generosity by sharing its games; however, PS is still on the fence.

Exclusives are a gaming company’s most powerful asset, which can be misconstrued to mean that powerful hardware is the true display of power. PS has been doing well, especially in previous generations where its first-party studios could create unique and high-quality games like Helldivers 2 that are well received by the masses.

Xbox lacks exclusives yet HiFi Rush made its way to the rival platform, and some claim it runs better than ever.

Hi-Fi Rush Made It to PS but Helldivers 2 Still Can’t Run on Xbox

Hi-Fi Rush is among the first four Xbox exclusive titles to make their way to PlayStation.
HiFi Rush is among the four Xbox-exclusive titles to make their way to the PlayStation.

Developed by Tango Gameworks, HiFi Rush was intended to be an Xbox exclusive through and through after the acquisition of Bethesda Softworks. PS users are being treated to four games, which include Sea of Thieves and potentially more on the way, while Xbox can’t bring Helldivers 2 for its players.

Bethesda has published several limited-time exclusives for the PS5, like Deathloop and Ghostwire: Tokyo, right before the acquisition that locked it into developing future games solely for Xbox and PC. Exclusive games are now at a point where they have become irrelevant and a pain for users who have already invested in one platform and are required to purchase a new one just for the games.

More Xbox Games Are Coming to PS, but None in Return

Xbox users are benched in the Galactic War because Microsoft couldn't figure out how to convince Sony to share Helldivers 2.

Helldivers 2 is not the only game Xbox users are upset about; Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth was just released as a timed-exclusive on the PS5, and fans are speculating it will make its way to PC fairly soon. Although it is a good indication that the game will be made available on a different platform, not everyone has access to a PC. Exclusivity is seriously harming the gaming community, which also appears to be hostile and passive-aggressive.

While it is easy to claim and harass Sony for being selfish, it is all business at the end of the day. Sony invests in talent and quality, and it’s very adamant about giving fans the best experience possible, which is why it made a deal with Square Enix in the first place. Microsoft may have a much larger portfolio, but it’s moving too slowly.

The company has shown initiative to bring an end to exclusives and, in good faith, shared four of its games with leaks and rumors that HiFi Rush and Sea of Thieves aren’t the only Xbox games coming to PS or even Nintendo; Starfield could make its way to the PlayStation 5 later this year.
