Prime Video adds another hit to the long list of TV shows and movies about video games that were incredibly well adapted. Movies like Sonic: The Hedgehog, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, or the HBO The Last of Us series achieved the impossible, making an adaptation of a video game IP great. According to fans and critics, the Fallout TV show has just been added to this privileged list.

Yesterday, fans found out that Prime Video renewed this series for a second season after the success of the first one. Numerous new media outlets and personalities have made mention of this. Todd Howard from Bethesda and Phil Spencer from Xbox joined the crowd to congratulate the team on this great news. Some fans were uncomfortable with Spencer’s words about this, saying that he was almost not involved in the project.

Many fans feel that Phil Spencer took credit for something that he was almost not involved in. The show was confirmed in 2020, before the Bethesda acquisition; later, in 2022, the showrunners were picked after Microsoft acquired the studio in 2021.

This means that this project is in a really weird position regarding how Spencer was involved. Todd Howard, one of the major responsible for this adaptation, has nothing to say about it.

However, as all corporate messages say, this is only to capitalize on the series’ success. This will mean that Bethesda knows that Fallout works as an IP, and the studio will really get to work on a new entry for the franchise. At the moment, the studio is working on several titles, like the Indiana Jones game, Marvel’s Blade, The Elder Scrolls 6, and many more. There will be many good games in the coming years.

The latest game that was launched about this saga was 76, a title that had many issues at launch, and fans didn’t really like it that much. But after numerous years of content and some fixes, the game has some really great things for the community. In the end, fans only want one thing: the most anticipated Fallout 5 that will continue the saga main series, the fourth installment, which launched back in 2015.

I'm a big fan of movies and videogames in general. I really love Pokémon and Godzilla. One of my favorite games is The Last of Us, Part II. A compelling and well-written story is always welcome.
