There are a lot of new features in this upcoming Ubisoft FPS game, like the absence of a skill-based match-making system in casual matches and many more. This game has every essence to become the king in the FPS genre; however, there is one issue that might not let XDefiant claim the throne.

According to this fan, jumping in this game isn’t as clean as in games like Fortnite, which feels more like hopping. This fan truly wanted to love this game, but the movement mechanics have come up in his way. The player in question has played a lot of arena shooters, and after all his experience, he is coming up with this opinion.

They also think Ubisoft should seriously look into the movement mechanics in the game, and they should be nerfed as soon as possible. According to this player, the jumping should have a “diminishing return” just like in Fortnite. They even went on to state that jumping in this game feels like fighting against “frogs.”

He is not the only one who is frustrated. Another XDefiant fan has pulled up his shirt sleeves and expressed that the game is like “a bunny-hopping tournament.” He feels like, despite loving the game, he might move on from it because of its weird movement mechanics.

Can You Prone in XDefiant?

XDefiant features some of the most useful aspects of an FPS title.

Talking about movement and proning in shooting titles these days gives you insane advantages, be it controlling the recoil of the gun, giving insane drop shots in close combat, hiding, or camping. You can also save yourself from enemy shots while proning, as it exposes the minimum body area needed to get shot.

However, another missing aspect of XDefiant is that you can’t go prone in this game. This movement mechanic is an important part of movement mechanics in many FPS titles, like Call of Duty.

However, you can slide cancel, like in Call of Duty, in this upcoming free-to-play shooter. Slide canceling is a momentum-based maneuver that makes the jump animation move quicker if pressed just after the slide animation is about to slow down. With this movement trick, players get immensely harder to hit.

A few days ago, fans were stating they were going to leave Call of Duty for XDefiant. But after a week of its release, the tables might be turning soon.
