Huge Jackman wishes to collaborate with Emily Blunt in a musical

A Quiet Place star Emily Blunt and Logan star Hugh Jackman came together for Variety’s Actors on Actors. The duo talked about doing theatre plays, as they both started from theatres. Jackman asked if she had ever done a musical, to which Blunt replied that she had an innate fear related to musicals. Blunt said,

“Do you know what my worst nightmare is, it’s my voice just like breaking at the wrong moment.”

Hugh Jackman shared that he has done musical before, hence he knows that it happens occasionally, but the majority of the time it is fine. Blunt asked him if they should do a musical together, to which the Night At The Museum 3 star said, “I am in, I am totally in.”

As the X-men star asked her which musical she wished to do, the Edge of Tomorrow actress replied,

“I want to do The King and I, but you can’t do that with me.”

Jackman was taken aback as he said that it would be tough for him. Blunt then said,

“That’s inappropriate.”

Blunt also shared that she was obsessed with the movie in her childhood. The actress further added that she wishes to get back on stage again,

“I do want to do a play again I feel like I need to get back on the stage at some point and do something so maybe we’ll do those single things. I would I mean I’m not sure if I have the guts to do a stage musical yet.”

Emily Blunt shared that she wished to do a theatre play, however, she is a bit scared of doing a musical.

Hugh Jackman reveals getting music lesson for Beauty and The Beast

Les Misérables actor Jackman revealed in the interview that he was provided with singing lessons. He was asked to voice Gaston in the animated film Beauty and The Beast. Emily Blunt said that he was a trained singer, to which he replied,

“I was a trained actor, and I got singing as it was in my contract when I did Beauty and the Beast. My contracts gave me one singing list I had to have the same lesson every week, so I kind of got through it. I got better and better, and that’s when I got lessons. So I’ve been learning on the job. It took me a long time to feel confident.”

Blunt shared that it is helpful when one has those lessons, they suddenly have something to grab a hold of. She also appreciated his work in the musical film The Greatest Showman.
