As she described it, the peril arose when some of the South African crew were capturing footage of a sac spider nestled on a nearby tree. Unbeknownst to Whittaker, the insect, fell on the actress’s face and found its way into her clothing. Whittaker told in The Graham Norton Show,
“The South African crew had been filming what is known as a sac spider, crawling up and down out of this tree… no one told me, I’ve run out of the building, into the wilderness as this sac spider just crawled down on me.”
