“It’s a Christopher Nolan movie, number one, and number two, he has one of the most incredible leads. Cillian Murphy is an actor that I have been watching for quite some time and have been desperate to work with for ages. You’d have to be mad to say no. It felt like I was playing sports with some of the best athletes, so it was truly one of the best experiences that I’ve had.”

Pugh plays the role of Jean Tatlock, who played a key role in J. Robert Oppenheimer’s life. Tatlock passed away at the age of 29.

Christopher Nolan’s latest movie, Oppenheimer, is about J. Robert Oppenheimer, also known as “the father of the atomic bomb” as he developed the world’s first nuclear weapons in the mid-1950s. J. Robert Oppenheimer had a very complex relationship with Jean Tatlock and her death left the physicist quite heartbroken.

Oppenheimer was diagnosed with throat cancer in late 1965. He was a chain smoker. In February 1967, he fell into a coma and died at his home in Princeton, New Jersey at the age of 62. Emily Blunt played the role of Oppenheimer’s on-screen wife, Katherine “Kitty” Oppenheimer.
