The man, the myth, and the legendary director Zack Snyder, once again proved his stature of brilliance. After departing from the DCU (formerly DCU) and leaving Justice League in the hands of Joss Whedon, Snyder knew that the film studio would come around back to where it all began.

Talking about the timeline of Zack Snyder’s Justice League, the director claimed that he had indeed preserved some of the intense stuff as he had a hunch that Warner Bros. Discovery would need it for the future.

Zack Snyder Knew That Warner Bros. Would Come Around

Fans were clearly disappointed with the 2017-directed Joss Whedon’s version of Justice League that DC had to release due to time constraints. Leaving the franchise hanging and grasping for an Avengers-esque movie, fans rallied around Zack Snyder’s return to the iconic franchise and release his version of what a Justice League movie should look like.

Hence, the Snyder Cut was released in 2021 due to intense pressure from the public. Zack Snyder’s Justice League clocked in at around 4 hours and 2 minutes yet fans loved every passing second of the movie. Although the movie had undergone extensive reshoots and several delays, the American director was quite clearly prepared.

“I always preserved some of the more intense stuff that I shot anyway. I thought they would, in retrorespect, they would maybe want”

The director further stated that in the original script, Lois Lane and Batman got together. Although the people are glad that Batman and Lois Lane did not end up together, there were some parts of Zack Snyder’s Justice League that had to be tamed down.

Although Snyder’s version was considered pretty grim and dark, the original script was much darker and weirder than what was released! Snyder even revealed that Warner Bros. wanted some comedy in the film since funny movies were getting love from the people and they did try to make it a bit comedic.

“The script for Justice League did evolve out of that. I’ll be honest, the script, what happened with Justice League, because we had a very … the original script was much darker and weirder, and then Batman v Superman came out, and the studio was like, ‘It’s not funny enough, people want funnier movies, they want funny stuff in it.’”

He further stated that he and Chris Terrio did try to make the film a bit more comedic than the original and they had Ezra Miller for the role of an irrelevant immature kid in the world of gods and monsters.

“I’ll be frank, Chris [Terrio] and I are not the funniest guys in the world, we’re not like awesome joke writers … I’m just 100% honest about that [Laughs]. We had Ezra and he’s pretty funny, that was kind of his role, to be the Flash, and be young, and be a little irreverent and in awe of Batman and Superman. And he did a great job, and that part was great.”

Although the comedic and humorous parts felt disconnected from Zack Snyder’s Justice League, the movie was well-received by the audience. After Snyder’s departure, there were some pretty significant changes in the franchise which seemed to distance itself from Snyder’s vision further and further.
