Apart from taking us on a beautiful trip down memory lane, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, tore our hearts into a million pieces on more than one occasion. This includes the scene where Tom Holland’s Peter Parker visits Zendaya’s MJ at the coffee shop only to see that the spell worked causing her and Ned to forget all about him. There weren’t many dry eyes in the theatre when Peter puts the letter he brought for MJ back in his pocket.

But now, fans are intrigued to see where the story goes for MJ and Peter Parker. Will they reunite or will the love life of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man suffer the same fate as the Spider-Men before him? Well, the questions are soon going to be answered as producer Amy Pascal has confirmed that a fourth Spider-Man film with Tom Holland and Zendaya is still in the works.

Speaking with Variety, producer Amy Pascal has confirmed that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4 is still in the works and will have Zendaya returning to play MJ. This piece of good news comes despite the ongoing writers’ strike. The team is standing in support of the strike and will resume their duties only when things get better.

“Are we going to make another movie? Of course, we are. We’re in the process, but the writers’ strike, nobody is working during the strike. We’re all being supporters and whenever they get themselves together, we’ll get started.”

While this may be good news for a lot of people, there are some worries among fans. No matter how heartbreaking, Spider-Man: No Way Home’s ending set the bar so high that it won’t be easy to go over it. Fans are worried that if Zendaya’s MJ just gets her memory back abruptly, it will ruin No Way Home’s emotional weight as well as Peter Parker’s character development. On the other hand, some fans are ecstatic to see what Spider-Man 4 holds for our favorite fictional couple.

No one knows where the story is headed for MJ and Peter. All we know is it is going to be extremely difficult for Spider-Man 4 to beat its predecessor. Whatever happens, they better not forget about Ned!

In an interview with Yahoo Entertainment, Holland was asked about Pascal’s comments and what he sees in the future of the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Pleading the fifth, the actor stated that while he would be lucky to play the character forever, he’ll only continue if they find a way to do justice to his story.

“If I just play Spider-Man for the rest of my life, I’d be still the luckiest kid alive, so there’s no complaint from me here…I’m gonna have to plead the fifth there because I am not prepared to start talking about the future of Spider-Man. As everyone knows, I love him, he changed my life, I love the character. Should we find a way to tell his story and do justice to him, we will do so. But if we can’t find a way to do that and if we can’t find a way to compete with the third one then, you know, he’ll swing off into the sunset.”

It sure won’t be easy seeing Holland’s Spider-Man swinging off into the sunset but all good things must eventually come to an end. Looking forward to seeing what Sony and Marvel do with the character and how they give him the ending he deserves.
