Almost two months ago on 31st July 2023, Angus Cloud left this world at the age of mere twenty-five, leaving his friends, family, and fans devastated at the tragic surprise. This came about a week after the news of the Euphoria star’s father passing away in an untimely death due to mesothelioma, an aggressive type of cancer.

But what’s more devastating is that Zendaya’s Euphoria co-star Angus Cloud had actually passed away due to an accidental drug overdose: the same reason why the brilliant Heath Ledger passed away following The Dark Knight filming.

Angus Cloud was indeed a terrific young actor, thriving in the entertainment industry following his role in the superhit television series Euphoria. But he left this world a bit too soon, and now, after almost two months following his devastating death, the cause has been reported as an ‘accidental drug overdose’.

According to the Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau (via NBC News), Cloud died from a lethal combination of methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, and benzodiazepines at his home in Oakland, California. Furthermore, his family also clarified that the young teen drama star was also in intense grief following the passing away of his father a week before, who was also his best friend.

While this is indeed alarming, the late Heath Ledger was also reported to have passed away at the age of 28 only due to the same reason: a lethal accidental overdose of prescription medications including painkillers and sleeping pills. This came months before the Joker star’s The Dark Knight was released after reportedly having experienced anxiety, restlessness, and depression.

As it turns out, the late Angus Cloud’s mother Lisa Cloud never believed that her deceased beloved son would take his own life, given his charming and comedic personality. Taking to Facebook, she revealed how the young Cloud was dealing with intense suicidal thoughts following his father’s passing away. Via NBC News:

“His struggles were real. He gave and received so much love and support to and from his tribe. His work in euphoria became a lightning rod for his generation and opened up a conversation about compassion, loyalty, acceptance, and love.”

She further shared how Cloud had discussed just the previous night his intentions of taking care of her and his little sister in the wake of his dad’s passing away. However, as Lisa Cloud hugged her son goodbye that night, little did she know that that would be the last time she would see him alive.

Following Zendaya‘s Euphoria co-star’s tragic death, his family shared another statement that said:

“The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”

Angus Cloud was an easy-going and rather goofy guy who played the fan-favorite character of a teen drug dealer named Fezco in Euphoria, who lived with his grandmother and took care of both her and his younger adopted brother, Ashtray.
