With a new team having been introduced at the end of the 3rd film, fans are now debating the path this narrative could take.

Why Zoë Saldaña Is Firmly Vouching For The Guardians Of The Galaxy Franchise

Will Marvel bring back Guardians of the Galaxy again?

Following the 3rd film directed by James Gunn, the Star Trek actor confirmed that she was officially done with the character while the film was also being viewed as a conclusion to the series. But the celebrity believed that there was so much more than the narrative could offer, especially with the ending of the film indicating the development of a brand new team.

In an interview with The Discourse Podcast, she elaborated on why she felt it was extremely important for the franchise to continue to make more films even if it has been established that the old characters who were the face of the movies will never come back.

I think it would be a huge loss for Marvel if they didn’t find a way to bring back the Guardians of the Galaxy. It’s just such a fan-favorite group of misfits, you know? And then at the helm, they had a voice like James Gunn’s writing—which is just so marvelous for and very specific for this genre. And it’s so great for this genre as well.

While the actor clearly stated that she would not be returning as Gamora, she added a little bit of intrigue when she hinted that the character may still have scope to reappear if a future film happens.
