Death Stranding 2: On The Beach is an upcoming game that is highly anticipated. While the game is expected to be released in 2025, a recent image featuring the genius behind the development of the game, Hideo Kojima, playing the game has surfaced, suggesting that it might finally be ready.
The game has been in development for more than four years now, but given the immense success of the first installment, fans expected the sequel might take time for development as well. While we only have little details regarding the game so far, there is a chance we will start to see more gameplay reveals soon.

Twitter USer @Lisa_West_Pix posted an image of Hideo Kojima with what seems to be a scene from Death Stranding 2 on a monitor screen. He has a PlayStation controller in his hand, and the screen reads “DS2.” Not much can be made from the photo as Hideo personally hasn’t said anything yet regarding the completion of the game.
Whether the image is a subtle indication from Hideo or is just a random photo of him testing the game, it should be noted that the game is pegged for a release in 2025, so technically, the development should be towards its end.
Of course, netizens had plenty to say regarding the image, with some even joking about “how he gets to play before everyone else.” However, most were only interested in knowing about the release date and the next official announcement.
While specific details about the gameplay and story of Death Stranding 2 are still under wraps, it is expected to take elements from the first game, such as a heavy emphasis on exploration, and the general theme will be darker.
Death Stranding 2 Will Continue to Build on the Success of the First Game

The upcoming game will be a direct sequel to the first one which is the reason many cast members are making a return. We did get to see one trailer of the game at the State of Play showcase, where we were again greeted by Sam ‘Porter’ Bridges from the first game.
A lot of destruction was seen in the trailer and a villain with a mask carrying a guitar as a weapon. We also get to see Fragile, who seems to be cured out of nowhere. She is also holding a baby, which the enemies take away.
Clearly, Death Stranding 2 is going to be more chaotic. Unfortunately, much like the first game, it’s going to be PlayStation exclusive at release. However, given how many PlayStation games are coming up with PC ports, including its prequel, we can expect it to come on PC later.
Do you think we might be inching closer to a release date announcement? Will there be any surprising cameos in the game? Let us know in the comments below.
