Just like the second entry in the franchise, CD Projekt Red has released the official mod editor for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, named REDkit. The modding tool is set to be released for free sometime in 2024 and is right now available for playtesting from April 16 to April 30, 2024. Will it also open the door for Cyberpunk 2077?
After years of development, CD Projekt Red’s futuristic RPG came but failed miserably. That’s when CDPR came in with more guts and responsibility, improved their previous flaws, and brought in the legendary Phantom Liberty DLC, which revived the game like a phoenix. Fans are pretty excited that they will see a similar modding tool for Cyberpunk 2077 as well.
The Witcher 3 REDkit : Unlocking Endless Potential
The Steam page for REDkit is live now. According to the page, this is a “comprehensive modding tool.” This is the same tool that has been used by CDPR to create Wild Hunt. This allows nearly limitless freedom in modding. That means this tool will unlock the world of endless customization in the game itself. REDkit will be available for free for all The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt owners on PC only.
Just imagine if they did this for Cyberpunk as well, endless potential.

This news has gone like a tracer bullet into the hearts of Cyberpunk 2077 fans as well. It’s just fascinating to think how a modding tool can unlock the endless potential of an extensive open-world game like Cyberpunk.
This tool lets you access the framework of the game and can literally do anything with it, i.e., endless possibilities as far as modding is concerned. According to the Steam page, this modding tool is capable of making overhaul changes to the terrain. It can also create personalized quests, animation, and even characters.
How To Gain Access to REDkit
There is no solid release date confirmed yet. As of now, this modding tool is available through a playtest. To enter the playtest, one simply has to go to the store page of REDkit on Steam and request access to the same. REDkit will be distributed among the fans in batches only during this limited period. Upon getting access to it, this toolkit will appear in the respective Steam libraries of the players.
The company has also informed players that, as this tool is in the beta phase, they might encounter some issues. Although, after getting valuable feedback from the players, all the persisting issues will be resolved in the full version.
That’s all from our end. We hope CD Projekt Red pays heed to the requests of thousands of Cyberpunk fans and brings in a modding tool for it, just like The Witcher 3 REDkit.
