While Amanda Waller is the obvious choice, some also seem to speculate that the character might be Frank Grillo’s Rick Flag Sr. The actor has been cast in the TV series and he is also slated to appear in the second season of Peacemaker (via Deadline). Many events of Superman have been confirmed to affect Peacemaker, which is also being helmed by Gunn.

James Gunn’s Superman boasts of many superheroes and prominent DC characters. Heroes such as Hawkgirl, Green Lantern, and Metamorpho are all confirmed to appear, while characters from Creature Commando were recently rumored to appear in the film. The character, who appears in Superman as Amanda Waller, makes a lot more sense.

The MCU was built with a post-credits scene in Iron Man, where Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury pitched the Avengers Initiative to Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark. Fury acted as the connection between various superheroes in the Marvel universe as he brought the likes of Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, Hulk, and Hawkeye under S.H.I.E.L.D.

Amanda Waller could perform a similar duty as she has already formed the Creature Commandos. Viola Davis‘ character has acted as a liaison between various DC characters in films such as Suicide Squad and The Suicide Squad. The character could be the Nick Fury of the DCU if she ends up making a cameo in James Gun’s Superman.

Superman is set to release on July 11, 2025.
