Two and a Half Men was one of the longest-running and most popular sitcoms before finally concluding in 2015. Despite the fan following, the Chuck Lorre show was plagued with numerous behind-the-scenes controversies, notably due to Charlie Sheen. The latter was one of the primary highlights of the show until the makers were forced to fire him due to a public meltdown.

Two and a Half Men also played a prominent role in Jon Cryer’s career, who played Charlie Sheen’s younger brother, Alan Harper on the show. The camaraderie shared between the characters was loved by the fans. However, the Supergirl actor revealed that he also had some weird experiences with Sheen as the Charlie Harper actor advised him to hire prostitutes to cope with his divorce.

When Jon Cryer released his autobiography titled So That Happened, the Pretty in Pink alum publicly stated that Charlie Sheen had some valuable advice for him after his divorce. As per The Hollywood Reporter, when Cryer was going through a “bad state”, he decided to pay someone to accompany him in the tough time.

As Jon Cryer felt miserable after his divorce and decided to use other means to get company, he got full support in this endeavor from his co-star Charlie Sheen. The latter shared some of his contacts with the Arrowverse actor. Although a contrast of interest did not let Cryer follow Charlie Sheen’s recommendations, he indeed had some bizarre experiences with prostitution.

Charlie suggested a few online purveyors he occasionally used, as this was when prostitution was gaining a foothold on the Internet. He and I had different tastes, so I didn’t go with his exact recommendations, but my forays into prostitution were about as awkward as you might imagine.

The presently-59-year-old was not wrong when he used the word “awkward” as he once visited a prostitute’s place and spent a good 25 minutes helping her with financial planning”.

On the other hand, his fascinating bond with Charlie Sheen also witnessed an interesting moment when a girlfriend brought by Jon Cryer on set was revealed to be Sheen’s ex. Things took a turn for the worse as the Scary Movie 3 actor confessed to Cryer that their relationship broke as he “wanted to bring another girl into bed with us, and she was not happy about that”.

Looks like all these awkward issues also demotivate Cryer from approving any potential revival of the series.

After a controversial feud against the co-creator of the show Chuck Lorre, Charlie Sheen was fired from the show after 8 seasons. Two and a Half Men reached an interesting juncture where Charlie Harper was killed on the show, and Ashton Kutcher’s Walden Schmidt was roped in for the rest of the show.

According to People, Jon Cryer was not all pleasant when Charlie Sheen left the show after such a long journey alongside him. Nevertheless, he also admitted to Access that it was a rollercoaster journey with the Spin City actor and he is unsure if he wants to jump on that rollercoaster again.

It’s kind of a roller coaster when you have Charlie in your life, and I just haven’t decided to get back on that roller coaster.

When everything was sorted out between Chuck Lorre and Charlie Sheen, the latter suggested a show on The Harpers. But Cryer made it evident that he is not keen to reunite with his Two and a Half Men co-actor soon. He said to The View that despite being the highest-paid actor on TV, Sheen “blew it up” so badly that he does not want to get in business with him” for now.

Two and a Half Men can be streamed on Peacock.
