A smile is contagious. And it’s not always nice. The trailer of Smile 2 reminds us that it is not pleasant to have everyone around you smile. The Naomi Scott starrer is all set to be the sequel to Smile which hit the theatres in 2022. But there was more to the film than just the spine chilling performances we witnessed. What set the movie apart was its top of the drawer and rather chilling marketing campaign. And it is anyone’s guess that they’ll be looking to take things up a notch with promotions for Smile 2.
Smile’s ad campaign was off the charts
What made Smile so special was Paramount’s ingenious ad campaign. In what might go down as one of the most unique and organic marketing campaigns of all time, actors would go on to attend MLB games, and pop up on the cameras, just smiling.
The viral campaign was a big boost to the movie’s prospects.

A testament to this is the fact that the movie made a whopping $217 million on a meager budget of $17 million. And the cost of the campaign – the cost of match ticket. If this isn’t one of the most effective ad campaigns in history, we don’t know what is.
Paramount Pictures is prepared for Smile 2
The return of the Smile franchise with the Naomi Scott starrer sequel has piqued fans’ interest yet again. The movie revolves around a pop star, Skye Riley, who is finding it difficult to cope with all the smiling faces around her while she is on tour, taking a dive into how the smiling virus has crept its way into her life as well.

The sequel, starring Sosie Bacon, Kyle Gallner, and Rosie Dewitt, amongst others, has already begun its marketing campaign, with Paramount promoting the pop star, Skye Riley, and her single, Blood on White Satin, even putting up billboards on Sunset Boulevard. While fans were dumbfounded initially, it is all coming together now, little by little.
Fans are all in for seeing Smile 2 (and its ad campaign)
In the aftermath of the release of a trailer for Smile 2, fans are sure that they can expect another freaky (and awesome) ad campaign.

Fans are all in for the sequel. And more than the sequel, they are also interested in seeing the marketing campaign. If we’re about to witness a return of the same campaign, then we might be in for a lot of fun.
The movie is all set to hit theatres on 18th October 2024. The trailer for the sequel can be seen above.
