Deadpool & Wolverine recently got to boast its 9-minute exclusive footage at the CinemaCon 2024. The audiences were elated to see the hilarious non-spoiler footage featuring the Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman superheroes. Shawn Levy stated to Collider that he did not want to show anything about the film to the audience so the clip shown is not even close to the insane and funniest scenes.

Currently, Deadpool 3‘s runtime is rumored to be just over 2 hours. Shawn Levy also spoke on that at the CinemaCon where he stated that he wants to make large films to connect to worldwide masses. He assured that the audience would feel where the pace wants to tighten” and where it can “afford to slow down” to have a deeper, more durable character moment

“Well, the truth is, I think your answer is in the question, which is if you make the kinds of movies I make, you are listening to the audience. I’m not making small films for my own satisfaction in a room alone, I’m making it to connect to the biggest audience possible.”

The footage shown at the CinemaCon generated an incredible response among the attendees. The audience also appreciated the much-talked-about scene of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine breaking the fourth wall to urge the audience to keep their phones silent.

Shawn Levy shared that the early screenings were “extremely promising”. The director also added that the title of the film Deadpool & Wolverine has a greater significance to the story.

One of the greatest surprises was delivered by the MCU when they announced that Hugh Jackman would make an unexpected return after Logan in the Deadpool threequel. It raised a massive online chatter with several fans even expecting it to be a cameo or special appearance. With time, it was made clear that Wolverine would also have a substantial contribution to the story.

Shawn Levy also reflected a similar feeling to Collider, stating- “This is not Deadpool 3. This is Deadpool & Wolverine, and it is singular because of that.”

As if Wolverine’s comic-accurate suit was not enough to make the fans excited, Levy has confirmed to Screen Rant that the upcoming film is a “two-hander character adventure”. The goal for the makers was to ensure an insane audience experience and after his recent comments, the fans are sure that they will be going out for a fun joyride featuring two of the most fascinating Marvel heroes.
