Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling’s tandem in The Nice Guys was something fans probably did not expect to happen but loved it as soon as they watched it. As a way to promote the film, they created a short video that would see the duo in a couple’s therapy session.

There’s nothing funnier than seeing the Barbie star react to his own memes. Crowe calls out Gosling for “promoting” himself but the latter has clearly no idea where these products (and memes) came from.

Russell Crowe Confronts Ryan Gosling In A Couple’s Therapy

Warner Bros Pictures shared the promotional video clip on YouTube with Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling attending a couple’s therapy. The Gladiator star opened the conversation with, “It’s a complete betrayal of everything that we’ve talked about and we’ve agreed upon.” He confessed this to the therapist.

As Gosling enters the room, he is shocked to see a life-sized cutout of himself. Crowe began:

Don’t you think that I have the right to know that you’re engaging this kind of commercialism and that this stuff is out there? You can’t endorse products, you can’t commercialize yourself…

Gosling would find it difficult to believe. “You think I’m making this? This is a charade,” he would say, mispronouncing the word as his costar corrects him. The therapist would ask Crowe to talk about what exactly happened on Friday when he was getting his tires changed. He says, “Tank top, man bun, and he says, ‘Hey girl.’

The phrase “Hey girl” is seen stamped on a couple of merchandise. It’s a famous Ryan Gosling meme that has been circulating on the Internet since 2008. The La La Land actor would refute the accusation.

I never said it. I understand if you’re in a movie and you say, ‘You complete me,’ or ‘I’m just a girl standing in front of a guy,’ and that follows you around, and you’ve got to own that. But I never said it.

Crowe would pick up what seems like a small book entitled Feminist Ryan Gosling. The actor comments, “Feminist? That’s a title you’ve got to earn. I’ve never burned a bra. I’m not a good person. I don’t even compost, man!” Poor Gosling, he could not help but curse three times in the video.

About The Hilarious Ryan Gosling Meme

Where did the ‘Hey girl’ meme come from, you ask? It’s not from a movie or show, but from a fan blog that caters to all things Ryan Gosling. As per E! News, blogger Douglas Reinhardt created the space to profess his obsession with the actor.

He would upload his photos and write captions that start with “Hey girl” to imagine what it’s like to have the Barbie actor as one’s boyfriend. Think of it as a pick-up line. One meme said, “Hey girl, even though funding was cut, you still look like a million bucks.” Swoon!

There are other categories, too, like Feminist Ryan Gosling, or even Shakespearean Ryan Gosling, to cater to fans’ amusement.
