The iconic WrestleMania 40 was a thrilling event, not just for common people, but also for several athletes and notable celebrities. One among them was Jake Paul, who attended the recently concluded WrestleMania 40 show. Therein, Paul caught up with Dwayne Johnson, backstage.
Now, as Jake Paul awaits a fight against Mike Tyson on July 20, 2024, at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, Dwayne Johnson shared the image from their WrestleMania 40 meeting with good luck wishes for Paul. While the Instagram post was just about Johnson expressing his interest in the fight, fans got upset recalling The Rock serving ties with Logan Paul.
Dwayne Johnson’s Message for Jake Paul Ahead of Mike Tyson Fight
After the thrilling WrestleMania 40 event, the wrestling industry is set to witness the next best match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson on July 20, 2024. Set to be streamed on Netflix, the upcoming match has gained both positive and negative attention in its build-up. Meanwhile, Dwayne Johnson took to his Instagram to wish luck to Paul, sharing an image from when he met him backstage at WrestleMania 40.
Expressing his interest and excitement in the match, as Jake Paul is set to face the former undisputed Heavyweight World Champion Mike Tyson, Dwayne Johnson inserted himself into the wagon. Although, all this while WWE fans were in a dilemma regarding the match since Paul is in his prime while Tyson is not, now following Johnson’s post, people got excited about seeing the G. O. A. T box again.
“Good to finally meet you brother at #WrestleMania Looking forward to your fight with the GOAT. As we briefly chatted, you wouldn’t want it any other way. Can’t wait to watch.” The Rock wrote.
However, while Dwayne Johnson simply addressed Jake Paul and Mike Tyson’s match and expressed his excitement for it via Instagram, fans appeared unhappy about it. Filling the comment section with negativity, some fans suggested that Johnson was wasting time. “You can still delete this Rock! Mad respect for you, but L post” one commented. Others speculated if he was paid to post, “how much did he pay you to post this.”
But among all, fans seemed to recall Dwayne Johnson serving ties with Logan Paul, as one commented, “don’t support these brothers”.
Fans Upset After Recalling The Rock Serving Ties With Logan Paul
After years of terminating his friendship with Logan Paul in 2018, Dwayne Johnson once again sparked drama as he shared a post with Jake Paul. Disappointed in Johnson, fans were reminded how The Rock had to serve ties with The Maverick, after his controversial video taken from Japan’s suicide forest back in 2017, received major backlash.
According to BBC, back in 2017, Logan Paul and his friends visited the Aokigahara forest at the base of Mount Fuji, which is said to be an epicenter of suicides. Therein, as the group came across a man’s hanging and deceased body, they began filming it and even shockingly made jokes about it. Although the identity of the man is not known, Paul’s video garnered millions of views on YouTube.
Following the surge in views, Logan Paul came under fire for making fun of the deceased and later posting something so horrific, before YouTube took it down. Turning into a controversy, Paul later issued an apology and claimed to be ashamed and disappointed in himself. Thereafter, as per DailyMail, Dwayne Johnson severed ties following Paul’s controversial video.
Wanting nothing to do with him following the controversy, Dwayne Johnson dismissed his association with Logan Paul. Perhaps, The Rock had a more personal reason for severing ties, since his mother Ata attempted suicide in front of him when he was just 15. But in the end, Johnson wanted nothing to do with The Maverick, which was once again reminded to him, after he shared a post with his brother, Jake Paul.
