There’s a king and his queen in a small Viking village, and they want to get married. An event happens to them at their wedding that causes Sigrid, who is the bride-to-be, who is the child of giants, to go on a crazy mission of revenge.

At this point, it’s already an interesting premise that sounds quite familiar to the ears. The director continued his statement with even more intriguing plot lines.

She enlists a cast of characters – a seer, a dwarf – and they come together to form a band that has this one mission to find a god and fight him. It’s a mission, it’s a revenge story.

He described the main character to give fans a hint on what they could expect from her. He also revealed the voice actress who lent her talent to the animated figure.

Sigrid is this beautiful, very Scandinavian kind of cold but passionate character that I’ve really enjoyed working through and with because she’s just so cool. Sylvia Hoeks voices her.

The star-studded cast of voice actors includes Pilou Asbæk, Stuart Martin, John Noble, Paterson Joseph, Rahul Kohli, Kristofer Hivju, Jamie Clayton, Jamie Chung, Peter Stormare, Corey Stoll, and Lauren Cohen.

Snyder previously discussed his first-ever animated project Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole in an interview with Digital Spy. The film ended up becoming a cult-classic favorite despite its mediocre box office result.

The experience of the 3D in Guardians was so successful for what I wanted it to do. I mean, I think the 3D is pretty awesome, and it’s also done as part of the cinematic language as opposed to being a gimmick. It just makes the world more real, and I think that, as a tool for filmmakers, it is relevant and maybe something that should be explored.”

Fans have divided opinions about Snyder’s upcoming work, but his avid supporters believe it’s going to be another masterpiece. Check out their tweets below:

Twilight of the Gods will reportedly run for eight episodes, which according to Snyder, was something he did not expect to be so challenging. Producing eight installments of animation is definitely no joke. Meanwhile, the series is expected to premiere on Netflix this Fall of 2024.
