Even though the Marvel Cinematic Universe is incredibly secretive with Avengers 5, just like every other one of its projects, leaks about the casting for the movie seem to be popping up nonetheless. This comes after the renowned industry scooper Daniel Richtman recently threw in some reported details about which superheroes could be seen in the 2026-scheduled film.

While fans were expecting to hear a lot of names from all the new superheroes introduced by the MCU, they were inevitably disappointed after Richtman revealed Kevin Feige’s plan for the next installment in the Avengers saga. This is because, according to those reports, Pedro Pascal and the remaining of the new Fantastic Four gang will reportedly not appear in the movie — at all.

Industry Insider Gets Candid About the Superheroes Cast in Avengers 5

There has been a lot of news about what fans might see and might not see in the upcoming addition to the Avengers film series, but these most recent reports seem to be the most disappointing of them all. This is because, according to the insider, one of the most fan-favorite bands of superheroes would reportedly not be seen in the movie.

Recently, industry scooper Daniel Richtman took to his Patreon handle to suggest that Marvel’s new version of the iconic Fantastic Four family, which will make its debut through its titular film in 2025, will reportedly no longer be seen in this 2026-scheduled movie. Adding to this are further reports that a lot of the new characters in the MCU will apparently not be in Avengers 5.

So, for now, it seems like Pedro Pascal‘s Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby‘s Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn‘s Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach‘s The Thing will reportedly not be joining the Avengers anytime soon. Moreover, the movie will also ostensibly feature a much smaller group of superheroes as compared to the previous Avengers films.

While this comes as a disappointing surprise, there’s more to these reports. As per the insider, some other actors from the MCU have reportedly been asked to clear off their schedules for this upcoming Avengers movie as Kevin Feige has “figured out the direction” for it. One of the names given among them is none other than that of Benedict Cumberbatch.

Needless to say, these reports aren’t exactly what fans were expecting to get. Although Cumberbatch’s reported inclusion seems like a good sign, those other superheroes who have reportedly been eliminated — like the F4 — don’t seem too well of an idea. That said, fans seem to have mixed opinions on this situation.

As can be expected, a lot of fans are unhappy with the reports that the Fantastic Four will not be getting their limelight in this upcoming addition to the Avengers saga. At the same time, a lot of fans are hoping that this ends up opening the door to something even greater appearing in the sequel to this movie, i.e., Avengers: Secret Wars.

All in all, here are their mixed reactions to this news on X:

As can be already understood from these reviews, not including all of those new Marvel characters could be a good as well as a not-so-good idea. Nonetheless, none of this is confirmed yet and are just reports from the insider, so we guess we’ll have to take these with a pinch of salt as well until Marvel Studios officially steps up to confirm it.
